Maybe use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar just this once. So not the old chipped one that‘s barely legible with the message, “But First, Coffee.” Make it special, put it on a saucer with a little spoon or a cookie or something. When pouring, make sure to use a good mug. Anyway, it’s time to grab your tea or coffee and make it in the yummiest way, the way you would order it at your favorite shop (french press or espresso attachments are welcome). This may seem like the most no-brainer aspect to the whole ambience we’re going for here, but just like being in an actual coffee shop, it’s only part of the equation. This may even help you feel energized to go on a walk, do yoga during a work break, or get the grocery store run finished earlier than usual since you’re already dressed for the day. The point is to just get out of the PJ’s or sweatpants so you can feel refreshed and like a normal human again. Pick whatever you’d wear to a coffee shop on a no-jeans day or something you would be comfortable being seen in public in. It doesn’t mean that you need to be dressed to the nines, put on makeup, or wear exactly what you would wear to the office (unless you want to), but just be comfortable. Here’s how to fill your own home office space with a coffee shop ambience to help nurture your creative juices, get in a productive zone, and bring some happy java feels to your day today. And you can too! While it’s no substitute for the real thing, it can certainly help with feeling more normal again. While this certainly helped me adjust to life very quickly during quarantine, not being able to visit my favorite coffee shops was one big, epic downer.Ĭonfined to my own space I found it very difficult to concentrate, so I decided to use what I had and get creative to make my own coffee shop vibes, Central Perk style. I already worked from home before the pandemic hit, back before “pivot” was a buzzword and everyone had Zoom Pro accounts. If there’s one thing I miss dearly from the pre-pandemic days, it’s venturing out to visit my favorite coffee shops during the week to get some work done.
